The Church of San Lorenzo, the most important religious building in Montevarchi, at the beginning was not exactly a church, but a chapel on the hill of Centanno; the current church was in fact built in a period subsequent to the twelfth century, probably to serve as a private chapel of the lords of the place, while the final version, however, dates back to the fourteenth century. This Church, situated in the heart of Montevarchi contains important works of art, some of which date back to the period of the construction of the church.
